I have a bunch of unanswered e-mails about Scrubs. So, I thought I'd start posting answers to the most commonly asked questions here. Question #1... "Do you see the actors everyday? What are they like? Who is the nicest?"
Yes. I see the actors pretty much everyday. They are pretty normal. Uh, actually very normal compared to other actors I've met in Hollywood. When is the last time you've seen someone from Scrubs in a tabloid sleeping with someone's spouse? The show's creator, Bill Lawrence, has a strict "No Asshole" policy, which means, no one who works on any of his shows in any capacity can be a dick. This policy works better than any 50-page "employee manual". The actor I was most surprised by was Ken Jenkins. He plays Dr. Kelso who, on screen, is the biggest ass / meanie in existence. In reality, he makes me wish I smoked weed because I can't imagine anything more cool than to sit down with a bong by the river listening to Ken tell stories. Quite possibly, one of the nicest people I have ever met. He bought both of my books and actually read them. (Even if you are a suspected mass murderer and you come to me with a severed, frozen head in one hand, if you have a dog-eared copy of one of my books in the other hand, I will give you the benefit of the doubt.) Anyway, I love Ken Jenkins.
The moment I get an inkling that anyone from Scrubs is reading this, I am taking this down. I will get so much shit that I spent my five hours of weekend freedom stumbling about work...
